OBR - Optical Braille Recognition
This software allows you to read Braille texts with an ordinary flatbed scanner. You can make a
dot-to-dot copy of your Braille documents on Braille embossers, convert them into computer text
files to store them for later use, or to process them immediately in other applications. As the
whole process of recognition is fully automated, you can perform all these tasks easily and
quickly.
The OBR software helps both blind and sighted users. Blind users receive a tool to make copies
of Braille originals and to obtain a computer representation of the Braille texts, which can be
further processed or presented by a synthetic voice. The sighted people can now communicate
with Braille users without the need to have an experience with reading the Braille. The
professionals and printing houses receive a tool for re-editing, re-printing, and efficient storage of old, worn out Braille originals.
